Class size and master schedules have a profound effect on learning and teacher productivity. My classes are larger than they have ever been and I am teaching a class that I really don't like, but was given the assignment a few weeks before school...ughh. I was wondering if you should find some research on surrounding schools or schools with similar make-up as yours to compare their schedules/class sizes. How do they handle this situation? It might provide you with valuable information to take to stakeholders. Also in your literature review, I bet you will find research that will back up your findings. What about surveying parents and students about class size and effectiveness of teachers? I don't know if this helps..just brainstorming. Good luck with your research...great topic.
ReplyDeletelaevans you are absolutely correct, there are direct correlations between class sizes a and productivity. I also really liked your idea about surveying students and parents.
